July 22, 2016 3 Comments

The monthly arrival of beauty subscription boxes is my personal indulgence. Like every mom, I need some pampering and what better than a surprise box of beauty and makeup goodies. The July fab bag promises a treat to be sure! Here are the contents of the ‘Hello Gorgeous’ July fab bag.

Let’s start with my favorite! Fab bag allows you to choose your favorite shades beforehand for makeup items. Last month, the subscribers to choose the shade for the eye shadow crayon. This month, I got to choose from several shades, my very own favorite shade for this lip crayon.

My chosen shade ‘Poison Ivy’ is a very beautiful, deep red lip color. You can see me wearing it with my new floral dress from Stalk Buy Love. The lip crayon has a lovely matte effect and very deep color. An instant favorite and a handbag staple!

Price: Rs. 799

Pep Moisture Velvet Shampoo

Pep Moisture Velvet Shampoo

I like shampoos with protein of any kind as they make my hair lustrous. The Pep Moisture Velvet Shampoo lived upto my expectations. With it’s oat protein milk, the hair feels soft and manageable after the first wash.

I believe the shampoo comes in smaller sized bottles because the 50 ml is mentioned as the full size.

Neemli Naturals Bengal Gram Exfoliator

I have been really longing to try some of Neemli’s products and I finally have my chance! The bengal gram polisher by Neemli is a herbal skin polisher. It is mainly made up of gram flour and rice flour. Like the Skin Yoga coffee scrub, this product also deserves a dedicated  post for it’s review. I will be posting my thoughts on this one soon!

Price: Rs. 425 (50 grams)

Johara Instant Radiance Face Scrub

Johara Face Scrub

Johara Face Scrub

I am ending with the least liked product in the July fab bag – the Johara Instant Radiance Face Scrub. Nothing against the scrub, but all my joy on seeing another scrub (I love them!) disappeared quickly after using it. The otherwise excellent product is not ideal for dry skin types. The lemon peel and neem do nothing for my dry skin. Instead of the glowing skin I usually see after using a face scrub, my skin felt very dry and caused me to abandon the product after the first use.

It would be a good thing if Fab bag starts taking into account the skin types (which is extremely important for skin care products) just like they ask for preferred shades in makeup products.

Price: Rs.500 (100 grams)
