DIY Fancy Dress / Halloween Costume Ideas for Kids

If you love DIY, then these costumes made with mostly paper and cardboard are something you will love to create! Some of them use other fibers and fabrics etc. but I have taken care to feature only those that can be recreated at home and don’t use ready-to-wear store-bought costumes.

I was invited as a judge for a Fancy Dress competition held to observe International Tigers Day. The theme was animals, of course. They included Animals, Birds and even Bugs and Insects! Here are some of the best DIY costumes from the event.

Use yellow and green construction/chart paper to create an adorable Corn costume.

Fashion a Pizza Hut Chef costume using construction/chart paper.

You will need to make an Apron, a Chef Hat and a couple of pizzas. You can paint it to create any favorite Pizza brand name.
