5 Affordable Ways to Make High-End Looking Wall Art

July 29, 2022 Leave a Comment

We all know that it’s not just furniture that makes a home look amazing; you also need accents, decor pieces, and other items that really crown the room and perfect it. The truth is, decorating your home with stylish accents can get really expensive. Some of the most beautiful things cost an arm and a leg, but luckily, there’s a loophole.

5 Affordable Ways to Make High-End Looking Wall Art

There are clever and creative ways you can make art that looks high-end without the high-end price tag. It’s a perfect way to bring beautiful designs into your home while staying within your budget. So next time you’re staring at an empty wall, wondering what to do to make it look nice, here are a few ideas.

Print Your Own Canvas

“A quality piece of wall art doesn’t have to set you back thousands or even hundreds. With a few sublimation supplies, you can decorate a wall in your home with something that’s eye-catching and looks incredibly high-end.”, says Cosmos Ink. You can come up with a design and then get a stretched canvas in the size that you would like. Now, you can use your machine to transfer your design to the canvas. Once that’s done, you can frame the canvas, and just like that, you have a stylish piece of art!

Decals

Wallpaper is stunning, but it can get pretty expensive; but there’s a little trick that can give you a beautiful look for a fraction of the size. Draw up some small decal designs, grab a Cricut machine, and print them out, so you have enough to fill a wall. You can stick those on the walls in a design that looks a lot like a peel-and-stick wallpaper, and a wall goes from drab to amazing in minutes! Sometimes you don’t even need vinyl decals; you can use paint to create a beautiful design. With a small brush, you can create a pattern of dots or v-shaped lines that will make your wall look anything but plain and drab.

Use Joint Compound

Joint compound is an amazing product, it fixes gaps in damaged walls, and it skims walls, but did you know that you can also make beautiful wall art with it? Joint compound produces really beautiful textured wall art (which is really trendy right now), and it’s very easy to do and super affordable too! All you need is a large canvas, the aforementioned joint compound, and the items you’ll use to create the texture you want; some of the best items are notched trowels, putty knives, and even a comb. Spread the joint compound until it fully covers the canvas, and then start adding lines and textures. You can also paint it and even apply gold leaf foil to really create that opulent, super expensive look.

Upcycle Old Art

If you spend any time thrift shopping, you’ll come across old artwork prints. The piece of art might not be the most stunning, but you can use this as a not-so-blank canvas for your own creation. All you need is some paint to cover the old artwork, and then you can add your own colorful abstract geometric shapes using a sponge cut in your desired shape, putting in a bit of paint and then dabbing it all over the canvas. This method can also be applied to a canvas you come across in a discount store and elevate them with some paint.

Acrylic Pour

If you want to create a real conversation piece of art that looks like it belongs in a gallery, acrylic Dutch pour might just be your best bet. You’ll need a large-scale canvas and acrylic paint in the colors you desire. You can apply the pour in long straight layers on top of each other and then use a powerful hairdryer to spread the paint at high velocity. It creates really beautiful abstract shapes, and you’ll never get a boring or basic result.

One of the most amazing ways to really make your home look unique is to DIY your own accents – it’s a lot easier than you think! DIY projects don’t have to look cheap or crafty; you can create a really high-end look with a few clever hacks. Duping high-end designs is all the rage because it allows you to get a great look without spending thousands of dollars. With a little creativity, you can create something so beautiful that everyone will want to know where you got it, and you can proudly tell them that it was your stunning handiwork. Who knows, you might have to start taking orders?
