Review: ‘The Little Boy Who Lost His Name’ Personalized Story Book

December 19, 2016 6 Comments

When a little boy or girl in your life is so, so special, you are always on a lookout for a gift that is as special as they are. When looking for a birthday gift for my now 6 year old little guy, I found a gem of an idea. It is my love for books and passion for ‘all things personalized’ combined into one. An uber cool, super special book that is made just for your special child. ‘The Little Boy Who Lost His Name’ and ‘The Little Girl Who Lost Her Name’ are the perfect personalized books to make their day and add to their own book collection.

The Little Boy Who Lost His Name – Personalized Story Book

On the morning of his 6th birthday, my son received a special birthday gift from Mamma and Papa.

On first glance, it looked like just another story book. But a book is always an exciting gift for my kids, so he opened it immediately.

But right on the page, he drew up in surprise when he saw his name in print. It was a personalized message to him by Mamma and Papa.

Then began the story. The adventure of a little boy who wakes up one day to realize that he has forgotten his name.

He embarks on a journey and meets several magical and interesting creatures on the way. He helps each one of them and in return, they give him one letter from their own names to help build his name.

At the end of the journey, the boy puts together every letter he had received from the strange creatures he met and finds to his amazement …

that he has found his name! That’s right! The book and the story is created just for your child and will create his or her own name in the end 🙂

My Thoughts

I admit I am sucker for personalized things but this book is more than that. True, the expression on my son’s face when he slowly realized that the letters collected by the boy spell his own name – that HE is the boy who lost his name – was priceless! The picture above was taken later. The original expression I could not capture. He loves to read it again and again and match each letter to the different creatures.

But other than the fact that it is a one-of-a-kind gift idea that every child deserves, I loved the concept of the book. The message at the beginning of the book (which can be altered, but I loved it so much, I did not change a word) encourages little boys and girls to have adventures in their lives. The lovely book with colorful full-page graphics is a glimpse of what the future holds for our children. One day, they will all walk out of our nests, meet new people and build their own identities.

Ship to India

The book is printed in the UK and will be delivered to you in India. Shipping to free to India and every other country. Just log on to Lost My Name, enter your child’s details and see a live preview of the entire book before purchasing. The book costs $25 (I paid ₹1,799.00) and includes shipping. It takes about one month to receive the book so do remember to order well in advance.

Personalized Details

Lost My Name has a very easy interface to create your book. You can choose how the character in the story looks by choosing from different hair and skin color to resemble your child most. You can, of course, enter your son or daughter’s name which will set the theme of the entire story. And finally, you get to print your own personalized message on the first page.

The book will be created just for your child and is sure to be cherished forever!
