Postnatal Care for New Moms and Babies

July 23, 2018 1 Comment

Congrats to the new moms out there on the arrival of your bundle of joy. Entering motherhood could be the far more best feeling you could have experience in all your life. The feeling of having delivered a part of you is the complete feeling any women would want. Now, having delivered, you will undergo a lot of changes. It will reverse back all that you underwent during the pregnancy phase. You must feel relieved and a bit tired all the time because you have changed physically now and the little one is not going to let you sleep as you slept before.

Postnatal Care for New Moms and Babies

Postnatal care

Women stand at high risk. It is very common to feel tired and weak after delivery. This is due to the loss of blood due to the removal of placenta during delivery. Most maternity hospital in Bangalore provide postnatal care sessions which will help you overcome the difficult phase. Postnatal care is equally important as neonatal care. Take complete rest. Take naps whenever you get time and mostly this is going to coincide with your little one’s sleep. Prevent mosquito bites which is the cause for major illness in new moms and new born. Stay away from gadgets, books, televisions and never strain yourself with too much of work for at least the first two months after delivery. You might also feel stressed but rest is what you need most.

Regular Check-ups

Have regular check-ups for your baby. Do not miss any signs and symptoms. Have a healthy long discussion to your maternity doctor about the sleeping pattern and the habits of your baby. Watch out for bleeding in the first two weeks after delivery. It is common but heavy bleeding can mean an underlying illness. If there is a need to change your pads every hour once then we would suggest you to visit a gynecologist for a check-up.

Clean Surroundings, Diet and Rest

A maternity hospital in chennai or any other city will give you the basic checklist for at least 2-3 months of delivery. Make sure the surrounding for the mom and the baby is clean. This will prevent any sort of air borne disease and illness. The most important one is dust. Your baby will feel very uncomfortable if the surrounding is dusty and wet.

Eat the right kind of food and get enough sleep, keep your place always clean then you are in the right track to a healthy motherhood.
