DIY Peppa Pig Cardboard House

February 19, 2018 5 Comments

So you have a Peppa Pig fan in your home too? Same pinch! Whether you want to make for them a play thing or a decoration for a Peppa Pig birthday party like I did, here is the easiest way to make a DIY Peppa Pig Cardboard House.

The bright yellow house with the red roof is the center of Peppa Pig’s world. Every show begins and ends with it. Kids (and adults belonging to these kids) recognize it very well. So when I had to throw my Peppa Pig fan a themed birthday party, there were no doubts what I wanted the backdrop decor to be.

Here are step-by-step instructions on how I made the cheerful Yellow and Red Pig family house using a cardboard box in an hour.

What you will need:

  1. A Large cardboard box
  2. Flat cardboard mailer packages (I used the ones from Vistaprint in which they sent all the cards, labels etc.)
  3. Yellow and red paper – the one that is colored on one side and has a glossy finish
  4. White paper
  5. Tape – Packaging tape and Scotch or other transparent tape
  6. Strong Glue (I used PVA) to hold roof and house together
  7. Sketch pens

How to:

  1. Start by cutting two opposite flaps of the cardboard flaps in a triangle shape like so.

2. If you have a long flat cardboard piece for the roof, good. If not, join two or more pieces using packaging tape to make the roof. I have taped together two cardboard pieces.

3. The roof should fit like this. To make the triangle flaps stand, glue the cuttings from the triangles inside them.

4. Now cover the house with yellow paper and the roof with red. Use transparent tape wherever needed to attach two sheets of paper together.

5. Apply lots of glue on the top edges of the standing triangle flaps and attach the roof. Hold it for a few minutes until the two pieces stick together completely.

6. Cut out windows and doors from white paper and color them. You can also use a colored paper for the door.
