Daddy’s 40th Birthday – Cake and Gift Ideas

We celebrated a very special birthday a little while ago! Fabulous Daddy and the Bestest Friend ever turned 40!! Here are some special gifts and a lovely cake that we celebrated the special day with.

Gift Wrapping

A little more thought and a little more effort makes a world of difference! Pretty gift wrap makes any occasion better and this was no ordinary occasion. My husband hardly gives me a chance to do something special for him. I sneaked out some time to wrap the gifts.

I ordered a set of metallic gift wrapping papers from Amazon and used ribbons from my own craft stash.

Originally, I had planned on doing only gold, white and black wrapping, but misjudged the size of the wrapping sheets. So I improvised and added blue 🙂

A Special Gift from his 3 Favorite People in the World

The kids got together (with me) and planned a cheeky gift! Daddy loves his tea in large mugs, so we decided to give him a personalized mug. The design we planned had to show the true colors of our little brats! All 3 of my kids are ‘ek se badhkar ek’ when it comes to mischief. I found some clipart online to do justice to them and made my own design.

I will not be able to show you the complete look since it was a wraparound design so here is the design I used:

The Gift of Fitness

In our age and times, there can truly no better gift than health. If your man is into activities such a running, cycling, swimming etc., a fitness tracking smart watch is a great choice.

Hubby dear is into cycling and I had already heard him praising Garmin trackers. I did some research and found out that Vivoactive HR was the latest gadget and combined the functions of a fitness tracker with a smart watch.

I cannot tell you how much this gift has been appreciated! Also, premium products such as these are delivered within 1 single day by Amazon! Lol…how I prayed that he not be at home when this was delivered 🙂

Little Surprises

Other than the above, some more gifts were planned for him and given to him throughout the day. Some new clothes (he NEVER shops for them!), a new kitchen gadget (he is the best cook in the house…honestly!) and the like.

A Special Cake for Dad

There had to be cake, of course. And a very special cake I designed for him. An all white cake with black silhouettes of the best daddy with his beloved kids.

The one above was a favorite with the older two. Each thought it was him or her on the cycle!. Such a proud moment for Daddy 🙂

All my plans for a party were thrashed well ahead of time by the man of the hour. He is simply not a party person. Our plans to travel and/or to get him his latest two-wheel crush were also thwarted since we are pushing hard to get our new home ready and any major spending is being avoided at the time. With these little touches, however, we did manage to spend a lovely day and made many memories 🙂
