Chicco Baby Wash Review

April 18, 2017 by Lata 18 Comments

The Italian brand Chicco has become one of the most loved brands in India for baby products. Their Baby Moments Gentle Body Wash and Shampoo is one of the most popular baby wash in India. I have tried most of the top baby wash brands available in India and my Chicco baby wash review is aimed at sharing my honest thoughts on this product.

Chicco Body Wash Review

Why I Was Hesitant at First

I have loved Chicco products immensely! But I was still hesitant about trying their baby bath products at first. That is because I usually prefer to buy bath products from brands that specialize in them. I had known Chicco for manufacturing baby gear and feeding accessories. On the other hand, brands like Johnson & Johnson and Himalaya etc. ar completely into baby and skin care. Their global website still does not mention their baby bath products for some reason! But when positive reviews started pouring in, I planned to give it a try.

Chicco Baby Wash Review

Under it’s ‘Baby Moments‘ range, Chicco has launched an entire line of bath and skin care products for babies. After the recent news of Johnsons products coming under fire (it was mainly their powder, but it did affect the brand’s goodwill), many moms began to look for alternatives. Here are some things that make Chicco baby wash one of the favorite baby body wash brands in India:

1. Chicco baby wash is completely free of harmful parabens.

2. It is Hypoallergenic

3. It has a very pleasing fragrance. Although it has been made very clear that fragrance-free products are the best for baby (hence, Aveeno remains my most favorite body wash), Indian moms are known to love a gentle fragrance on their babies!

4. Tear free formula đŸ™‚

5. Body wash and shampoo both in one. I like such products personally and is probably the only reason why I choose this one over Himalaya.

6. Free of the dreaded SLS and SLES cleansers which is my main complaint with Johnson’s Baby Milk+Rice Bath.

7. The 500 ml variant has a pump dispenser – a big plus!

8. Hydrating and Moisturizing – Baby’s skin feels soft and does not dry up after the bath.

9. Cleans the oil residue from the baby massage very well.

10. Contains Oat extracts.

A Few Things ‘Not so Fabulous’

The not so good stuff about Chicco baby wash is nothing serious. By that I mean, it has in no way harmed my baby’s skin in any way. But I found the product design (of the pump dispenser bottle) not as good as that of Johnson’s or Palmer’s. Twice, the pump broke when in use.

Other than the pump, the baby wash is mildly scented. As I mentioned before, it is best to use fragrance-free products for babies. The smell of this baby wash is VERY nice if I may add and has caused no damage to my baby’s skin.

The product is made in India under the supervision of Chicco Italy. But despite the fact that it is manufactured within country, the price is double that of the most popular baby body wash – Johnson’s Top to Toe Wash.

Final Thoughts

Chicco baby wash is not one of the most popular baby washes in India for no reason. It has been a trustworthy product and combines all the good qualities of baby washes without any harmful ingredients. The price is comparatively on the higher side which lead to more people opting for Johnson’s and Himalaya baby washes.

I was a Chicco user initially and used the babywash and lotion for baby A but then switched to Sebamed. You are right the pump broke in my case too everytime and made it hard to use. I love their toys a lot though, those are really good

I used chicco baby wash once but found it to be very expensive therefore switched back to top to toe wash only . As both served the same purpose. Thanks for the detailed review

My neighbour recommended chicoo baby moments and lotion to me, have been using for the past two months now, all i could knw is that it really darkens my baby and it made me feel bad. My baby was seriously fair right from birth before but chicoo changed everything. I never liked wat it did to my baby’s skin
