Take a Walk In My North Pole Christmas Village

December 20, 2016 by Lata 4 Comments

Every year, at Christmas time, I bring out my treasured Christmas village buildings. My mantle turns into a picture perfect North Pole Christmas Village that draws all eyes. Come, take a walk across the little village that is my Christmas mantle decoration for a couple of weeks.

The main village street begins with a classic log house and a post office. All the buildings are decked up with Christmas greenery. Next to the post office is ‘Rimpy’s Bakery’. I can imagine elves inside choosing from their favorite baked goodies!

After the bakery comes ‘Santa’s Light Shop’. The building is lit up beautifully with colorful lights and they offer world wide delivery in case you want to order! 🙂

Then, come the loveliest buildings of them all. Although they like like one large building, they are actually 3 different ones. Two identical ones on each side of a smaller one in middle that joins them. The two buildings host ‘Santa’s Bear Works’ and ‘Dolls Shop’. I imagine the large house must be owned by two sisters or brothers who now make and sell cuddly teddy bears and pretty dolls in one half of the house, each.

The Christmas Bread Bakers sell every kind of Christmas bread popular in different parts of the world. This is where my daughter chose to put the ‘candy cane bench’ for people to sit down and watch the snow while enjoying their bread.

At the end of the main street of our North Pole Christmas village, are a shop and the village chapel. Elfie’s Sleds and Skates sells fun sleds and snow skating equipment to enjoy the snow. I can see all the village folks taking out time religiously to pray at the North Pole Chapel.

And right in the middle of the village, stands Santa’s Lookout Tower. Flanked by evergreen trees, we decided this deserved a prominent place.

And above, an elf is busy carving an ice sculpture of a snowman. And now, since my daughter is joining in the Christmas decorating whole-heartedly, I think it’s time to add to the village. Hopefully, we will add some more accessories to the North Pole Christmas village next year!

All Buildings and Accessories (including picket fence, bench and trees) are from Dept 56.

Glad you liked it Monika :). These are collectible buildings from a brand called Department 56. They make excellent miniature houses like these. I have only arranged them. The snow and all other effects are the excellent work of the company that makes them 🙂
