5 Reasons You Should Travel to Saint Barts with Kids

February 15, 2023 by Lata Leave a Comment

A private Villa for the whole family

Travelling with children can be a joy, seeing them experience new cultures and food and customs can truly fill the heart to know they are growing as people. However depending on their age, travelling with children can also be a nightmare. The tiredness, screaming, crying, feedings, and not to mention the kid’s behaviour as well. However, where you stay can make all the difference. Cut the hassle and allow St Barts villas to pick the whole family up from the airport and whisk you all gently away directly to your private villa. A luxurious home away from home without the worry of disturbing the other guests or the hassle of having to ask the staff for every basic need.

5 Reasons You Should Travel to Saint Barts with Kids

A private villa can feel like being at home with the kids. All the comforts available to you and more. Have a private chef cook the meals for everyone and give yourself some time off. Dine with the family by your very own pool for a relaxing afternoon. Finish the day in the movie room surrounded by everyone you love and a great film. This can all be a reality and the planning can be made simple with the always available villa manager.

Calm beach for kids of all ages

For the family with a bigger age gap check out Lorient Beach. The west side has larger waves for the older kids to play in and even surf. The east side is a bit more calm as the waves break much further out making the water near still. The very little ones will enjoy splashing about in the shallow reef pools.

A more tranquil vibe visit the aptly named Shell Beach kids can spend all day hunting for shells of every shape, size and colour. But be sure to bring shoes!

Colombier Beach and Saline Beach are much more natural and undeveloped. These long stretches of sand are practically void of all people so you may have it all to yourself. It’s also a great spot to snorkel just off shore as the scarcity of people bring about the local marine life.

Ready to party?

Some of the more well known beaches have great full service boutique beach clubs. There you can get a chair and watch the day go by on the beach. Anything you desire can be brought to you. Drinks and food? Keep it coming all day! It’s a much more active scene.

No matter the activity goals you’ll be able to find it here. If you want to be in the centre of it all and close to all the lively areas of shopping and dining then Saint-Jean Beach is the beach of choice. Even watching the small planes cruise overhead on their way to the airport is an exciting activity at this beach.

Water adventures

Have kids that are always ready for action? The beach can still be a great choice to burn their tanks empty. Water sports are super popular and a great way to spend time together. Multiple equipment rental companies are here to offer anything you need from paddle boarding or kayaking to snorkelling or scuba diving. Take a Catamaran cruise or a sunset sailing adventure with the whole family for memories that will last forever. The newest hot thing to do is Seabobs, which are personal underwater scooters, for kids ages ten and older.

Eating out with the little ones

The fine dining options on the island are vast and of high quality. However fine dining and children usually don’t go together. Here kids are welcome and many high end spots have a dedicated kid’s menu. There are ways to keep the tykes happy and enjoy your meal as well.

Come early. If you make an early reservation you are more likely to get a table by the window and away from the main crowd. Also many other families also chose this option so the restaurant takes on a more family friendly vibe.

Many of the high end restaurants are situated right on the beach so while you are enjoying your champagne the kids can go play on the beach safely in sight and out of your hair.

If table service isn’t your child’s thing then how about a pique nique? True to its French past the island still has incredible patisseries and boulangeries. Pick up some delectable supplies for an afternoon out in the park or at the beach or even just by the pool at the villa. Just be prepared. It’s best to go shopping in the morning before they sell out. So plan a delicious pastry filled breakfast to stock up for the afternoon outing.
