Games & Activities for a Movie Awards Night Tween Birthday Party

September 23, 2016 by Lata 5 Comments

Movie trivia, acting and even product endorsements – the guests at the Movie Awards Night Birthday Party for my 11 year old were nothing short of celebrities! I planned all the activities around Bollywood but they can be easily adapted to any movies.

Movie/Celebrity Themed Games and Activities

Here are some of the games and activities the kids enjoyed at the party:

1. Guess the Celebrity

This is a very popular game at Kitty parties. I taped the name of a popular celebrity to the back of each guest. They were all required to ask the other guests for hints about this celebrity and guess the name of the celebrity. An example of this game was one of the young boys who had the name ‘Tiger Shroff’ on his back. He asked for hints. One guest said ‘Baaghi’. He had no clue! Another guest said, “The Flying Jatt”. He still had no idea! Yet another guest gave a very intelligent clue, “The first name is that of an animal”. This had him thinking. Finally someone prompted, “National Animal” and he got it! It was a fun game and helped the guests become acquainted with each other.

2. Ramp Walk

The guests received glitter hats and feather boas to dress up Hollywood style! And when done, they loved to put on a fashion show for us. The red carpet turned into a ramp and they walked to the beats of popular Bollywood and Hollywood songs.

Celebrity Endorsements Party Game for an Awards Night Party

Choose a product, pretend you are a celebrity and endorse it! The clap board added a lot of fun to the games.

3. Celebrity Endorsements

We see celebs endorsing brands in commercial advertisements more often than in movies. So we devoted a game to enacting a celebrity endorsing a product! I filled a basket with popular products that are currently being promoted by celebrities. The guests had to choose any one product and enact a TV commercial to sell it!

The stage was then free for any guest who would like to entertain us with mimicry or any other talent. While I prepared to bring out the cake and warm/bake any food items, the kids enjoyed singing, dancing and acting out scenes.

P.S: The Director’s clap board was a great purchase. The kids had a great time using it and saying ‘Scene ___, Take ___, Lights, Camera, ACTION!!
